I come from quite a small town in Hertfordshire so before I joined the group I didnt know anyone else who was openly gay. I wasnt really out to anyone and it would not be an understatement to say I felt very lonely and isolated. Through a website I found out about GirlDiva and decided I had to try to go. I was terrified as I was still questioning my sexuality and I wasnt really sure if this was the right place for me. I arranged a one2one with the senior youth worker I neednt have worried because she put me at complete ease and reassured me that it was ok to be unsure of my sexuality and that Girl Diva was the perfect place to work out that stuff and that the group members were friendly and I would be welcomed. So along I went. And I love it I have made so many friends here and been given so much support and advice from the youth workers.
